Uganda

First Women's Conference!

Allison, Gail and Roylena accompanied by Mike. Where did we go? Our destination was Uganda in the heart of the African continent. It’s about the same size as New Zealand but has a population of about 32 million who have a personal daily income of just $1.40. From NZ it’s about 28 hours travel - flying through Sydney to Dubai and on down into Entebbe which is Uganda’s main airport. Kampala is the capital city of Uganda and sits exactly on the equator. The climate is therefore tropical - and for us very hot. From Kampala we travel by taxi for 5 hours to the north east of Uganda to Kumi Town where Pastor Richard and Margaret Esolu live and minister. Mike ministered to the whole church on two Sundays and Allison and her team partnered with Margaret to uplift our Ugandan sisters during the week long women's conference.

Ask about how you can get involved with short-term Celebration missions trips in 2019 with one of our other teams.

Soroti and Kumi

Community Development

Partnerships for Prosperity

We were able to bring a large box of carrot seeds into Kumi. Kumi is an agricultural town. An experimental plot was sown. We are also exploring an export/import business, bringing peanuts into New Zealand for the production of 'high end' peanut butter and other products. Other projects led out by our Christchurch Celebration Centre partners are the sponsorship of orphans and the building of churches and community centres in the districts.
