Partnering with Nelson Celebration Centre

Working together to bring in the harvest!

It's great to be partnering with Nelson and Myanmar Celebration Centre to reach the nation of Myanmar. The pastors of Nelson Celebration Centre Brett and Tania O'meagher have had a call to overseas missions from a young age. God lead them to place of leading the Nelson Celebration Centre. Nelson is one of two refugee centres in New Zealand. The Nelson church has miraculously seen an influx of refugees into their church.

God brought the nations to them and through these relationships and connections Brett and Tania began to travel into Myanmar and Thailand in 2014.

Shan State, Myanmar

Supporting orphans, church plants and small business

Pastor Abraham Sa Kap Bawi leads the work in Myanmar. Him and his wife live with 44 orphans and 11 other adults in their home. They have six churches in their city of Yangon and two churches in the Shan State. Shan State is where Heart of the North will focus our efforts and in April 2018 we are helping to bring out pastor Sangchin Bik from the capital city of Shan State, Taunggyi, to Conference in Christchurch and to speak in our church. Only 0.70% of the 4,593,000 Burmese Shan people are evangelical Christians. They are just one of several different ethnic groups in the sate and there is a great work to be done.

Orphan Sponsorship

James 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

We are currently sponsoring fourteen orphans from the Shan State. Six of them are in Pastor Abraham's care in Yangon and the other eight children from the Lahu tribe under the care of Pastor Sangchin in Taunggyi. Because Myanmar has had the longest ongoing civil war in the world between the various ethnic groups and the Burmese government, many children have had one or both parents killed in the conflict. Villagers in the Northern Shan State experience extreme poverty. Our sponsorship of $NZ30 per month feeds, clothes, shelters and schools each child and gives them hope for the future. Most importantly they learn about the love of Jesus Christ and His plan for their lives and become leaders of transformation in their own towns and villages.

If you would like to know how you can sponsor a child, email Roylena Tzikoucos by clicking on this link. She will give you all the information you need to know and keep you up to date with pictures and the progress of the children.

I and my wife Rebecca want to say our special heartfelt thanks to all of you for sponsoring these precious kids. We can’t stop thanking God for you and these kids. They now have a future and hope because of your prayers and financial supports. One day in the future, each of them will be a beacon to each respective place where their is no light at all. It always makes us exciting. Please keep praying for them, financing them as they grow in the truth.

Expanding the pig sty

Economic Investment

Support for small businesses

The Heart of the North Celebration Centre generously supports the expansion of Pastor Sangchin's pig farming business. The immediate goal is to relocate the operation from his current rental property to property that he owns. Our investment will help build the house on the property which will become his home, home for the orphans we are supporting and base for his ministry. By eradicating the monthly burden of rent business and ministry will be able to prosper. Building should begin shortly.
